SOPHISTICATED SONGS is the home of the song catalogue of AL CHERIN. Songs that cover certain particular musical genres of the past.  AL grew up listening to and absorbing the record collections of his parents and grandparents. He was completely smitten by the sounds of as long ago as Vaudeville and British Music Hall, through to the Jazz, Swing and Big Band era. This passion extended beyond, to Bossa Nova and the gentle Easy Listening sounds of the sixties and seventies.  AL was also mesmerized (and still is!) by the movies and shows of the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's and those magical, songs, scores and soundtracks.

London, born and based of Anglo/Irish and Italian parentage,  AL has been a professional musician, music producer, songwriter and multimedia music composer for over two decades. He started writing songs in his teens - having learned the piano by ear as a younger child. What had absorbed and inspired him through his love for these bygone sounds though, meant that composing melodies and full songs in the styles from yesteryear, soon came very naturally to him. Therefore, aficionados of classic song standards and old time veteran musicians/music industry professionals, have said that AL has a very instinctive, unforced and genuine ability to write and produce extremely authentic sounding original songs that are memorable, clever and could easily belong to those actual earlier times.
